Hotel Pick-Up and Transfer to Cruzpata

Your adventure begins with a timely pick-up from your hotel in Cusco. We offer two convenient departure times:

• Morning shift: 7:00 AM
• Afternoon shift: 1:00 PM

We’ll travel by comfortable tourist transport for approximately 50 minutes to Cruzpata, the starting point of our ATV adventure. Along the way, your professional guide will share interesting insights about the region and the places you'll visit.

ATV Briefing and Practice Session

Upon arrival in Cruzpata, we’ll start with a 15-minute practice session to get you familiar with handling the ATVs. Our expert guides will teach you the basics of operation and safety. Once you're comfortable and ready, we’ll begin the official ride.

ATV Ride to the Inca Terraces of Moray

We’ll set off on an exhilarating ride across scenic rural trails towards Moray, one of the most fascinating archaeological sites of the Inca Empire. The round-trip ride takes about 2 hours, offering panoramic views of the Andes throughout the journey.

At Moray, you’ll explore the mysterious concentric terraces believed to be an agricultural laboratory used by the Incas. Your guide will explain the site's function, its microclimates, and the sophisticated engineering behind it.

Transfer to Maras Salt Mines

After visiting Moray, we’ll return to Cruzpata by ATV and continue by vehicle to Maras Salt Mines. For safety reasons and due to steep and narrow roads near the salt ponds, this part is done via transport.

Along the way, enjoy stunning views of the snow-capped Veronica and Chicón mountains, and connect with the cultural richness of the Andean highlands.

Exploring the Maras Salt Mines

At Maras, you'll be amazed by over 3,000 salt pools cascading down the mountain slope. This surreal white landscape has been used to harvest salt since pre-Inca times. Your guide will explain the traditional methods still used by local families today.

You’ll have time to walk around the site, take photos, and even purchase artisanal salt directly from the producers.

Return to Cusco

After our visit to Maras, we’ll head back to Cusco, ending the tour at Plaza San Francisco, a central location where you can continue exploring the city or easily return to your hotel.

Important information

Do I need experience to ride an ATV?

No experience is required. You’ll receive basic training and guidance before starting the tour.

What sites will we visit?

You’ll visit Moray (Inca agricultural terraces) and Maras (traditional salt mines). Plus, enjoy beautiful views of mountains, valleys, and local villages.

What times is the tour available?

• Morning shift: 7:00 AM – 1:00 PM
• Afternoon shift: 1:00 PM – 6:30 PM

Are entrance tickets included?
Yes, both tickets are included:

• Moray (part of the Cusco Tourist Ticket)
• Maras Salt Mines (separate fee)

Is the ATV tour safe?

Yes. The routes are controlled and off-road, away from traffic. Guides are trained in first aid and provide full support throughout.

Can I take a passenger on my ATV?

Yes. We offer double ATVs for two people, or single ATVs for solo riders.

What’s the minimum age to join?

You can ride an ATV from 16 years old (with parental permission if under 18). Passengers can join from 12 years old.
