The Sacred Humantay laggon in Cusco, Peru, is an exclusive and unique place in the Andes, here you enjoy the beautiful scenery of the attractive Humantay snow Mountain, the Andean Valleys of the Inkas, and sacred snow-capped mountains such as the Salkantay Apu “the Savage sacred mountain”.
So if you are in Cusco or wherever you don’t miss out, the Humantay Lake Tours will be a spiritual gate to the Andean Gods, such as the Mother Nature #Pachamama, we are sure that you will have an unique and memorable experiences, Also, there is Humantay Lake 2 days tour with an overnight in our Lodge del Cielo and we can fix travel packages in Cusco including the experience for Humantay lake.
Frequency: Every day (Monday to Sunday).
From your hotel, we'll start our trip to Humantay Lake in a private vehicle to Mollepata, where we'll enjoy breakfast before beginning our adventure.
Soraypampa is where we'll stop on the first day of the Classic Salkantay Trek. After about an hour's drive to Soraypampa (12,800 feet high), we'll start hiking. The Humantay Lake sits at 13,780 feet with amazing views all around. On clear days, you can see the mountain spirits (Apus) of Salkantay and Humantay nearby.
The walk to the lake takes about 1.5 hours. It's not too hard, and the views at the top make it worth it. If walking is difficult for you, you can rent a horse. Once there, you'll have plenty of time to take photos and make a small offering to the mountain spirits.
After spending some free time at the lake, we'll walk back down to Soraypampa, which takes about 1.5 hours and is much easier than going up. Then we'll go to Mollepata for lunch, rest a bit, and get back to Cusco by 6:00 PM.
Humantay Lake is located in the Peruvian Andes, about a 3 ½ drive from Cusco. It’s easily accessible, making it an ideal option for a day trip.
The difficulty depends on each traveler's physical condition. This tour is designed for those with limited time and a decent fitness level. It’s best to do it toward the end of your stay in Cusco, once you’re better acclimated to the altitude.
We operate daily departures during the dry season, from mid-April to November. If you choose to visit during the rainy season (Andean winter), you may experience rain or even some snowfall.
The best time to visit Humantay Lake is between April and November, during the dry season. The lake is located in the Vilcabamba mountain range, where the weather is generally mild, though it can vary due to the high altitude.
The hike to Humantay Lake is short but steep—like climbing stairs continuously. It takes about 1 hour at a steady pace with a few short breaks. Some parts of the trail can be slippery, so trekking boots are highly recommended for stability and safety.
The trek begins at 3,870 meters (12,700 feet) and climbs to 4,240 meters (13,900 feet). Although the ascent is demanding, it rewards you with stunning Andean scenery.
The hike takes between 1 to 1.5 hours, depending on your pace and physical condition. If needed, horses are available for rent from local residents (it’s recommended to descend on foot for safety reasons).

What a magical experience! Yisus and the porters, as well as the agency and of course our group have been simply amazing. I am vegetarian and the food was sooo good! Healthy, love-filled… The 4 day Inca Trail is highly recommended and the professional organization and team-effort was outstanding. Thank you :D

I cannot recommend enough this company that gave me the best hike of my life. After my 4 days to the Inca trail, I can say how impressed I was for the excellent organisation, the cure for the details and the hardworking attitude of all the team. A big thanks to our guide Yisus whom knowledges of the Inca, empathy, professionalism and smiles, made the hike smooth and even more enjoyable. He always made sure all of us were going to our own pace and offered support and encouragement everytime we need it. Without the porters Julio, Sixto, Anastacio, Zony, Aaamilkar and the leader of the porters Jose Luis our trekking would have not been the same. Harworking men who brought all our equipment and took care of us with simple gestures like warm water in the morning and hot teas throughout the day. Also, together with the chef Benigno, they offered us wonderful and rich Peruvian dishes multiple times a day. Gracias and see you next time for other unique trekking!

Wilson was an amazing guide, he gave clear instructions the day before the hike and thoughtfully adjusted the timing of the tour so we could enjoy the Inca ruins with fewer crowds and still have a good amount of time at Machu Picchu. He was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate, and having a guide from the Inca community added a deeper, more authentic perspective to the history and culture we were experiencing. The 1-day Inca Trail itself was stunning with beautiful scenery throughout the trail and we were even lucky enough to spot an Andean bear along the way. Highly recommend this tour if you’re short on time but still want to experience the Inca Trail and Machu Picchu together.
