A day-filled adventure tour with breathtaking landscapes, "Apus" mountains, and turquoise, blue, green, and even reddish lagoons. Besides these attractions, you'll get to know the Andean flora and fauna, such as Alpacas, Vizcachas, and Condors.
The highlights of this tour are the seven lagoons located on the slopes of the Vilcanota Mountain Range, with the following names: Otorongo Macho, Otorongo Hembra, Puca Cocha, Alqa Cocha, Ccomer Cocha, Azul Cocha, and Pata Cocha.
Finally, in the community of Pacchanta, there's an incredible natural hot spring with medicinal properties; if you wish, you can also relax in these natural thermal waters.
4:30 am We will pick you up at your hotel in Cusco, then our transportation will take us to the community of Pacchanta, traveling approximately 3 hours – Pacchanta is a community located at 4,320 meters above sea level.
After a delicious breakfast in the Pacchanta community, we will begin the trek from Pacchanta to the 7 Lagoons. We'll walk for about 5 hours (round trip) and visit lagoons of different colors, characterized by their blue, turquoise, and green colors: Otorongo Macho, Otorongo Hembra, Puca Cocha, Alqa Cocha, Ccomer Cocha, Azul Cocha, and Pata Cocha.
During the visit to the 7 lagoons mentioned, we will also see the following mountains: Ausangate, Jampa, Pucapunta, Tinke, and the Qayangate Mountain Range. We will also observe some Andean flora and fauna. Keep in mind that the trek includes both steep and flat sections.
After visiting the 7 lagoons, we will return to the small community known as Pacchanta, and around 2:00 pm we will have lunch.
Finally, we will have the opportunity to enjoy the hot springs for about 40 minutes or explore the Pacchanta community on your own. The tourist transportation will take us back from Pacchanta to Cusco city, arriving back in Cusco around 6:30 pm.
The trek to the 7 Lagoons of Apu Ausangate begins in the Pacchanta Community, which is a 3.5-hour journey from Cusco at an altitude of 4,320 meters (14,173 feet). This picturesque village is located right at the foot of the majestic Ausangate Mountain!
The best season to visit the 7 Lagoons of Ausangate is between April and November, during the dry months. Being located in the Vilcabamba mountain range, the weather is usually mild during most of the year, although conditions can vary due to the altitude.
The trek to the 7 Lagoons of Ausangate has steep sections and flat areas. It takes about 5 hours (round trip) at a steady pace with some breaks. The trail can be slippery in parts, especially during the rainy season, so trekking boots are recommended for greater safety and stability.

We had the best experience with Inka Trail Expeditions all thanks to Percy! Thank you Percy for being so passionate about the nature, the history and the culture of this place. It changed the way we experienced the trek. Percy was really patient with all the group and very helpful and caring. All the trek was very well planned and as explained to us initially. All the crew was good to us and served us in the best they could. Can’t recommend Inka Trail Expeditoons and Percy as a guide more!

We recently went on a girls’ trip to Peru and booked our tour with Inka Trail, and it was truly an unforgettable experience. From the food to the accommodations, everything exceeded our expectations. Our guide, Percy, was absolutely amazing — patient, friendly, knowledgeable, and incredibly helpful throughout the entire trip. He took the time to teach us so much about Peruvian culture, history, and the traditions of his people, which made the experience even more meaningful and special. Peru is such a beautiful and fascinating country, and this trip created memories we will never forget. We highly recommend Inka Trail and especially Percy to anyone planning a visit to Peru!

Amazing amazing experience. We weren’t sure what we were getting ourselves into (being only girls) but our guide Percy showed patience and flexibility throughout the whole process. He also always tried to make things happen whether it’s accommodating to someone’s needs when it comes to transportation or just adapting to our pace. The explanations were great, he is very knowledgeable. We also felt very safe! Big thanks to the whole staff horsemen/cooking staff, they were incredible and delivered a very consistent service. Wld highly recommend, make sure to make the most out of the experience.

I had an incredible experience hiking the Salkantay Trail in Peru with Inka Trail Expeditions. We did the 4-day, 3-night trek, and it was truly one of the highlights of my trip to Peru. A very special thank you to our guide, Percy, who made this adventure unforgettable! Percy was patient, kind, knowledgeable, and always encouraging throughout the hike. He shared so much about the history, culture, and traditions of Peru, and you could really feel the love and pride he has for his country. The track itself was absolutely beautiful, but Percy made the whole experience ten times more enjoyable. His energy, stories, and care for the group created such a positive atmosphere every single day. Thank you again, Percy, for making this journey so special. I would highly recommend Inka Trail Expeditions and especially Percy to anyone planning to hike the Salkantay Trail!!
