Embark on a fascinating journey to two of the most impressive archaeological wonders near Cusco. Our half-day tour takes you to explore the mysterious circular terraces of Moray and the breathtaking Maras Salt Mines, offering a unique cultural and scenic experience—all in just a few hours.
We begin with hotel pickup in Cusco between 8:00 and 8:30 AM, heading northwest through scenic Andean landscapes and charming traditional villages.
Our first stop is the picturesque village of Maras, where you’ll enjoy panoramic views of the Vilcanota mountain range, including the snow-capped peaks of Chicón and La Verónica.
We then visit the archaeological site of Moray, a remarkable Inca complex made up of vast circular terraces arranged in concentric rings, forming a natural amphitheater. These structures served as an agricultural laboratory where the Incas experimented with different microclimates to enhance their crop production.
Next, we head to the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, an impressive site with around 2,000 salt evaporation ponds that cascade down the mountainside like a giant mosaic. These salt pools, used since pre-Inca times and still active today, offer a glimpse into centuries-old salt extraction techniques that remain unchanged.
After our visit, we return to Cusco, arriving at approximately 2:00 PM, giving you the rest of the afternoon to relax and explore the Imperial City.

We did thr 2 day Inca Trail and it was amazing. Our guide, Henry, briefed is the night before the 2 day excursion. He was on time, professional and answered all our questions. Although at times the hike was a bit strenuous, Henry made sure to provide us with breaks and encouraged us all the way. Getting to the sungaye was absolitely breathe taking. We learned so much about Machu Picchu and Henry also k ew where to take the best photos. He did an amazing job and I'd absolutely recommend a tour from him.

Was für ein Erlebnis!! Den Moment wenn man Machu picchu zum ersten mal erblickt und weiss, dass man selbstständig den Weg zurückgelegt hat ist einfach genial. Ich ging von rustikalem Essen aus, aber unser Koch hat jeden Tag zwei köstliche Gerichte mit jeweils mehreren Beilagen auf seinem Campingherd gekocht. Dss ganze Team hat sich extrem viel Mühe gegeben diese Woche unvergesslich zu machen. Auch auf dem Weg hatten wir viele interessante und schöne Erlebnisse von einem Kaffeerösten bis zu einer Zeremonie mit Cocablättern auf dem Salkantay Pass. Beautiful experience! The landscape are incredible! Our guide yisus was very kind and helpful. The cooker sebastian was fabolous and Genarus the horse rider was so professional and gentle. I suggest this experience with them
